Record: Zollner greets 87 new trainees

Largest group of trainees in the company’s 46-year history

2011/09/02: Thursday September 1, 2011 was a day for 87 young people to begin a new chapter in their lives: They started their training in our company. Ludwig Zollner, Director HR & Automotive, greeted the new trainees and their trainers in the training center at the main Zandt plant.

On the first day, the new professionals also had a chance to form some first impressions of the region’s largest employer by going on a company tour. The company’s founder, Manfred Zollner, also proudly greeted the new trainees. Before the trainees were introduced to the various training departments, training director Manfred Huber introduced the Zollner group during an extensive presentation on the company.

For many years, our company has been known as one of the best-known training companies in the East Bavarian region, and each year we confirm this impression by hosting a larger group of trainees than the German industry average of approximately 6 %. Overall, this amounts to 226 trainees in the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering, IT, and business. In addition, high school students can choose from technical, business, and IT fields of study.

In recent decades some 1,300-plus young people have been trained as qualified, dedicated professionals, and in most cases have successfully gone on to secure permanent jobs.

The new professionals will be starting in 18 fields this year at Zollner Elektronik AG. These include 17 high school graduates who have selected a dual study program – this is also a record. In addition, traditional fields such as electronics technician for devices and systems, with 40 new trainees, and industrial manager, with 10 trainees, once again had sufficient demand.

Interest in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and IT fields is just as strong. This year the two job areas “technical product designer” and “warehouse logistics specialist” are being pursued for the first time, with one new trainee each. We wish our future professionals a successful start and all the best in their future professional development at the Zollner group.
